This has grown a community of people struggling with similar personal setbacks but it has also encouraged the rise of leading Internet tropes known as ‘Sad Girl’ and ‘Sad Boy’. These tropes often address their emotions through romanticised images in the way they are artistically framed and executed as well as in the way they dress.

 

The styles of dressing is a culmination of casual silhouettes borne out of a desire for looking approachable and as such, relatable and bold visual statements borne out of a visual-heavy culture.
